France 1940: a memory

Hi all,

Started a new dio.
Place is France 1940, where a german officer remembers a small chapel from 1914-1918.
It was destroyed then and never rebuilt.

You will notice that the steering wheel from the Horch is missing.
It will be added later together with the driver.

The Horch kfz15 is an old Italeri, almost OOTB.
But the bonnet was an awful piece of plastic, I added some more folds and the typical sticks.
Much better now.

Some figures will be added, as well as a T 38(t) panzer.

Thanks for looking,

Willem

That is a great piece of work Willem :notworthy , the ivy on the ruins looks great, how did you do that?

That reminds me of somewhere I have seen first hand... maybe Luxemburg, maybe a bit further north in the Ardennes. Very atmospheric, almost beautiful just as it is with only the staff car.

Hi all,

Thanks for the kind words, but remember: constructive comments are always welcome !

Next step: the T-38(t) tank.
This is a very old Italeri, from the time is was still spelled "Italaeri".
At that time I handpainted it.
Removed the old paint, fixed a new metal barrel, added Friul tracks and improved periscopes and antenna
Then it got a new airbrush coat.
Still needs the weathering, but basics are done.

Next step is the weathering and then painting the figures and some accesoires.

Italaeri,yep that's pretty old.
Absolutely very nice work Willem! (y) (y)

....now for my unforgiving comment  Maybe you should use a alternative light source when taking photo's.
I know the Panzer 38(t) is gray, but maybe it looks too gray in this picture.
The reason I say this is because of the turret numbers;I think they are white outlined RED or BLACK but in these pictures...I don't know. :idonno

Having sad that;I know how hard it can be to take good pics.

Mmmmm....maybe you are right, I did fade the pics somewhat.

Reason is the original picture below:

I think the panzergrey looks far too blue-ish, thats why.
I used natural daylight, no idea why it turned out that blue.
The background should be white....

Im a lousy photographer... :(

I think this looks spectacular. As for the pics, I've heard tat the Panzer Dark Grey is kind of bluish in color; that's part of why it looks so dark. Once it fades out, it becomes more grey. Again, I'm only going by what I've seen quoted from references in other Forums.

This is a remarkable diorama. I'm looking forward to seeing more done on it.

Hi all,

Done.

I managed to take the pictures with other lightsources.
Finally got rid of the irritating blue reflection and have some more natural colors.

The tankers are old Italeri, the officer Italeri with a Legend head, and the driver Tamiya
Too bad the figures are shiny on the pics....
