Desert - dio 4: Backbone of the 8th Army

Hi all

Figures done.

This is the first time I painted body flesh, so any comments are welcome !

British tanks were inferior to the Germans, but the artillery was outstanding, specially the
reliable all-round 25 pounder.
They were the backbone of the Desert Rats.

I like it. Nice to see a gun in action (y) (y) (y) (y) (y)

VERY nice!

The 25 ounder could fire so fast that some captured German officers wanted to see the semi-automatic gun.

The old Tamiya kit can be made to look quite good with some TLC.

Cheers from Peter

All thanks anyway,

Hi all

Done, accesoires, shells, crates etc.
Also added a camo-net, maybe more realistic, but Im unsure about the looks.
What do you think ? Yes or no ? Be honest, its easy to remove !

My vote is for YES on the camo-net! (y)

thinking out loud now:You could also get a net over the truck, and maybe add some pieces of hessian strips in the nets. Then again, maybe your models and figures are covered up too much then, to see your splendid work.
Camouflage nets have the tendency to cover up things, don't they? :silly:

Greetings,Ron.

Sometimes i have found that that's a great thing :D

I would do as Ron says and add something to the truck, the driver is in there still so maybe just camo net on the ground ready to be pulled over the truck... :idonno

Thanks guys for your honest opninion, camonet stays.

I would not cover the truck, as the door is open and the driver inside, so it has moved, or is going to.
As Bagge said, some net on the ground "for later" sounds good.

Ron: Im uncertain about Hessian tape, I have never ever seen it in the desert.
As far as I know (can be wrong) only in Europe.
But if anybody has pictures to proove, I might consider that.

Here you go,Willem.

I'm not sure if I would use Hessian tape in this setting however,..it could obscure the models and figures too much, but that would be your call of course.

Ok, will go for some Hessian tape....

Making the strips looks easy, twining into the net looks hard.
But I think it will be worth the effort
