Well my build will be a little bit different. I will be building a 1/48 ProModeler P-40 Warhawk in Japanese markings. This build will be dedicated to a man I never knew but he died of cancer and this kit came from his estate. So here is to you Rich Herron :drinks

The scheme sounds great, do you already have decals for it?

Regards,

Actually I am just going to piece them together from several different sheets I have already. Probably going to go with the simple scheme towards the bottom of that link. After doing more research the top one seems to be fictional as there are no photos of a P-40 that actually looks that way.

Did you see the photograph, not artwork, at the bottom of this web page?

Rising Decals made a decal sheet of captured aircraft in Japanese service. One of them is this one:

I will check my sheet to see if the squadron markings is still there. If it is, I'll let you know so you can PM your postal address as it will be yours.

Saul that is awesome. Yeah I'd seen that sharkmouth one before. Would be way beyond my skill to figure that out. I figured something simple like the photo you posted.

Well, I found the instructions so now I need to find the sheet! Obviously, I bought the sheet for the two sharkmouth adorned aircraft but the rest won't be used...

Well not much work will be done on this for a week or so. I tell you packing and moving sure does suck. Even if it is only a 1/4 mile away lol. If you do happen to find those extra decals Saul I'll give them a good home lol :D

Message on it's way Saul. Thanks a bunch!

In the mailbox... there is a fourth one in there, a variation of white 1 whereby the unit symbol is replaced by yellow Kanji characters. A cool effect would be to use the star insignia and cover with (hopefully translucent enough) red hinomarus. Rising Decals includes them too but I need them for the yellow nosed shark.

Regards,

Well this build is on hold until I can find the kit. It vanished during the move. I hope it just got misplaced and put in the storage unit. IN the meantime I have started on a 1/48 Hasegawa Ki-27. I did get the decals Saul. Thanks for those. They are tucked away with the other decals I have. If the kit doesn't surface I will just use an AMT P-40E I have instead.
