CTA Entry: DML E-100

Thanks guys. The muzzle brake wasn't difficult, you only have to be careful not to drill through the other side.

Before I show you the painted model let me show you something that I forgot the last time; the engine deck with the Pe grilles.

Now we can proceed. Here are the major components painted. I used Polly S German Yellow over red primer from a can.

Next I painted the tracks. For these I used a gunmetal color from Plaid (Ceramic paint) followed by a rust wash. For where the road wheels make contact with the tracks I used Tamiya Metallic Grey. The interior of the engine hatch was painted with Tamiya Hull Red.

The other side.

The exhausts received a light wash of rust.

The fans were painted with Metallic Grey

And here are all the components reunited. I had to make some shims to elevate the turret because it sits too low on the chassis.

Next, decals and washes.

This looks like a job for this guy!

Wonderful work, Ruben- this thing is shaping up to be a real terror!

Re: CTA Entry -Ruben- DML E-100 Finished

Well, here we are again!

First, to all of you that view and comment, thanks for your time.

Chukw, after what he did to that monster tank in the movie, do you really think that this one would have any chance of surviving him? I think not! :yipee

MP if you mean that the hull looks like a Panther, yes. But remember that after the germans saw the T-34 (not to mention the beating they took from it) they learned to implement slopes in the hull. That's why they look similar.

Here is the tank with a coat of future and decals applied.

And here is after the weathering. I decided to go with a light weathering because, apart that the actual tank was never finished, I think that in case it were press into combat it wouldn't have spent much time in the field.

I used a light yellow oil to do a filter in some areas to lighten the paint followed the next day with a brown wash to accentuate the shadows.

For the muzzle brake I used black pigment as well as for the exhausts.

Here is a better view of the muzzle;

And here are some more shots of the tank with the matt varnish applied. I used Vallejo matt cause I haven't found a better one yet. The air filters were painted light grey with a white dry brushing.

Re: CTA Entry -Ruben- DML E-100 Finished

Nice finish Ruben, you can clearly see how big that thing is, looks like you have a hard time getting it all in the camera frame. (y)

Hi Ruben

Very nice, I like the work you did on the tracks and exhaust, they really compliment your hard work on the vehicle overall. Well Done. :notworthy

Ruben

Looks mighty fine,Ruben! (y)

Just remenber to post a picture and a link to your build in the : CTA completion thread...if you want to have a chance to win one of those cool prices that is. ;)

Greetings,Ron.

I didn't have any chance to post during your build given how many of these projects were going on, but you have done an excellent job! That was brilliant giving it only light weathering, and the subtle effects you've done are extremely convincing. Way to go! Congrats on getting done!
