Cessna 195 on floats

Great work Uros. The water rudder cables look fine.

If you never heard from Roger Currier, it was probably because he was recently diagnosed with cancer. They had to pull their Beaver out of the water early, he was the only pilot. He has great attitude, says he'll be back flying again next spring.

Pup, if you're on FB you can follow Curriers Flying Service, in Maine. The family owns the company. We met online, I had flown his Beaver when it was registered in Canada.

Thanks guys!
Jim, Roger didn't reply, but I know now he's got bigger concerns right now. I saw it on FB. I wish him a speedy recovery!
MP, I checked again, all panel lines are there. It's just the light. Thanks for looking out for me!
I have completed the paint job on this model. It required a lot of masking and patiece and I like how it came out. Just a few touchups were nedded.

I attached the floats and added missing windshield frames made from white decal stripes.

I started making base for this one. It will be beached on a shore with a simple wooden pier on the side. It's made from styrene and I want it to look like it's been there for a while. Before I go any further, I want to hear your oppinions on how it looks.

Excellent job Uros.
A quick suggestion. When a floatplane is parked at a dock like that, it is almost always parked with the nose outward. The reason being, once it is fuelled and loaded you don't have to turn it around to taxi out.

Thanks everyone!
I've been buissy with this one.
I paited the dock with oil colours. Tires came from spares box.

I also wanted to add some life to the base. Fish are made from green stuf and foil. I used silver paint for the base and oil paints for details.

Jim, I took your advice and turned the plane around. It looks better that way. Then came the time to pour some water. I knew somethidg would go wrong and I was right. First two pours were ok and dried with no problems. Third one, top one, didn't. I have no idea what went wrong. I used something called cold glaze. Its two parts epoxy and i'm sure I mixed it right. I also added to much green tint and it looked like water was full of toxic waste. to fix it, I went over it with water efect for rivers from ammo. It has dark green tint. It looks too dark now, but at least it's dry and dust doesn't stick to it. Oh, and when i was doing that, I managed to knock of the fuselage. so all cables had to be redone.

I'm not happy with how this is going, but it's not that bad for doing "water" for the first time. I have plenty more models to practice.

Thanks for looking in!

Looks fantastic Uros. Those fish just add the icing on the cupcake. (y) (y)

For what it's worth, I don't think the water is too dark. Lakes in northern Canada are dark like that, except when you get up near the tree line, where the water is as clear as vodka. (Then there are the large ponds that are universally known as 'loon-$h!+ lakes' because of the dark water, caused by the mud on the bottom and the type of vegetation.) :D

I dig the fish, I mean afterall, isn't that what they are there for?

I think the tinting gives it depth. (y)

I think this water work is magnificent! It looks exceptionally realistic to me, and I used to live next to a lake. I think you nailed it. Man, what a fantastic little vignette; I also especially love the fish.
