Thanks Guys, this was a whole lot of luck that I got that finish. I was dreading the painting part of this build from the get go as I have never done a Black subject before. The Black I used was Warbird acrylic Black 90% and 10% Dark Brown as an initial starting point, then it was a parade of variations on the black with some Grey and Blue using a lot of white spirits to thin everything down. Soft brush working in the direction of airflow. Other than that I don't remember too much. Oh I did use some Silver powders to highlight some edges and ridges.
 
I'm thinking on doing a PBY Catalina in the near future, so any advise I can get on a black finish is going to come in handy .
