Yep that is right, I just can not sit idle.

So here it is.

But not just another rod type vehicle. Got a couple of things special planned for this.

More to come.

32 5 Window Coupe Chop and Drop

Ok my friends.

My first update on this one.

I want to do something more indepth than just a OOB type of build so the first thing I did was pull out the saw and begin the cutting.

The body prior to cutting.

Now unfortunately I did not take any photos when I made the cut or with the top off. It did take just a bit of doing but I did get it done.

The second thing was I wanted to make the chasis lower to the ground. So blindly I proceeded. I cut a bit off the front axle and off the rear. I filed down the frame of the chasis just a tad to make sure the axles would sit right. I also ground a hole in the rear of the lower chasis so the rear end would be able to fit after I lowered it. Again no pictures, OOPS.

After I got all that done I did a bit of a mock up to see how it looked.

Now just to show the difference I put this build next to a mock up of the 3 Window Coupe. (same ride height and overall height)

Next up per my normal will be to go slightly out of order for the instructions. I plan to work a bit on the engine as well as the plumbing for the rear brakes and the fuel tank.

A long overdue update:

I have been working on this build and have some progress to report.

I have made some progress on the engine. The paints used are Model Master Zinc Chromate Green, Alclad Polished Aluminum, and Alclad Chrome. I have also managed to get the fuel lines on the carbs and the linkage on the transmission.

I managed to get some color on the chasis. I also got some pumbing on the frame. The color is Model Master Zinc Chromate Yellow.

I scratched some shocks and the framing so it would fit on the front right.

The interior is painted Model Master Interior Green. It has scratchbuilt parts for the pedals and they will fit into the tranny.

I also have color on the body, Rust-Oleum Flat Black. The firewall is Alclad Polished Aluminum.

I hope to have some of this whole mess together in the next week or so.

It looks pretty good right now. I hope that continues as I put the assemblies together.

Don't take this the wrong way Joe but I like your car builds better than your planes. They just make me really want a 1/1 scale rod.

Many many thanks. You are very kind.

A quick update.

We have a rolling chasis. The engine is installed with just a bit left to attach. The interior tub is together and ready to go into the body of the car. Man that stretch just flew by.

Next up is to paint the body.

Pictures....

I believe that is the cleanest engine I have done. It is the third time I have wired the engine.
