The Jaguar was a joint Anglo-French design that produced a supersonic reconnaissance and conventional/tactical nuclear strike capable platform. A carrier version was also proposed but was cancelled in favour of the Dassault Super Etendard. It was produced by SEPECAT, a joint venture between Breguet and BAC, for the FAF and RAF and export customers India, Oman, Ecuador and Nigeria. India is the last user of the Jaguar and is currently upgrading the avionics in 56 airframes. With this upgrade, and the acquisition of ex-FAF, RAF and RAFO airframes for parts, the IAF plans to keep them in service until 2038. A planned engine upgrade has been cancelled due to numerous delays and rising cost of the programme.
The box is chock-a-block full of plastic. Markings are provided for two aircraft, one in the standard Dark Green/Dark Grey scheme and another in a Sand/Brown scheme. A small PE fret is included for some cockpit and airframe details. A good assortment of external stores is provided to mix and match as colour scheme and time frame dictates.
