CTA Entry: Ben, DC-4 United Mainliner

Gee, thanks for asking, Bob. I've been working on everything else but this project. The DC-4 will get done, though, not in the time left for this group build. Oh Well! I never seem to be on time for GB's. I did give to a good cause though! That's the most important to me.

    Second Chance Campaign

Re: Make up Campaign I think its a fine idea! Where can one find the info as to what ribbon fits what campaign?

The elbow grease deptartment seems to be lacking, or slacking. I thought I had given this bird a real good sanding and polishing with decreasing paper grains and the softest polishing pads. All it takes is a little primer to prove otherwise. She's going to be Alclad NMF, so it is going to take...

    Another FNG from Canada

Hi Warren. Glad to see another Canuck modeller join an outstanding forum. Hope to see more of your work. I'll show you mine, if you'll show me yours. Wait a minute. I said that to some chick when I was seven. Got to come up a new one liner after forty years of using it...

Little by little, she's coming together. The engine faces are in and the cowlings mounted. I chose to replace the cheap plastic prop shafts with .9mm brass tube (thanks Albion). For 1/144, the props are really very nice. I do have to get a better system set up for taking photos. Right...

1/48 CF-100 Mk IV from Hobbycraft

I feel you've done a wonderfully, inspiring job so far. Quite a slice of Canadian Aviation history in this bird. Hope you don't put it back into the drawer. :popcorn Watching close.

CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose - Done!

Re: CTA Entry - Phil - Revell B-25J Gun Nose Oh well; with such a fine metalized finish coming down the pipe, its likely best to wait for the proper time and conditions. :thumbsup Me, I'm shoveling snow 2x a day in the -20C, so its a good time to stay inside and model on.

Hi Randy. Yeah, I have a Minicraft B-377 that seems fairly brittle. This kit is the opposite, rather soft. I accidently pushed my sharp tweezer through an engine face trying to position, and formed a small hole rather than a break. Mincraft kits can certainly have issues. I like them anyway...

WOW!!! After watching your incredible building experience, I feel my efforts amount to no more than squeezing out tube glue. You are doing a bang on job of it. :notworthy: :thumbsup

Well, this is going really, really slooowww. I did manage to get the engine faces underway. In this small 1/144 scale, they need only get a wash and they'll be done. I've attached and masked the cabin roof and masked the parts to be left clear. When masking clear parts, I always wind-up...
