No progress as yet, but, I'll be starting on two new structures shortly.
I've been wanting to add two smaller buildings, a totally destroyed Hauptbahnhof, (Train Station), and a Medieval City gate at the entrance of the Alt stadt, (Old City) in the Logistics diorama. I've went into my reference files and found some Gates that would work. The most famous of these gates would be The Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, but it seems most cities in central Europe began as a medieval walled fortress. Here is one in Munich, The Siegestor, (Victory Gate). Munich has several medieval gates still standing.
Another one in Trier, Germany. Built by the Romans around the year 1 B.C.
These gates, or arches were for a couple of things. One, as gates to the city wall, and also, as Triumphal Arches. Many times they are found today at the entrance to medieval cities or Old towns such as this one.
This one is the Karlstor in Munich.
I really like this one, so I think I'll make a smaller-in-scale version of it to place at the entrance to the Old town of Logistics. Not an exact copy, but similar.
BTW, off the subject, when I was in the army in Europe from 1959 to 1962, my MOS was a light truck driver. However some officers quickly noticed I was artistic and suddenly I found myself in a little office of my own with my own Jeep and the title Battalion Artist. When looking for this stuff, I found one of my mascots I designed for Company "C", 97th Engineers. He was called Charlie. I can't believe I created this almost 60 years ago! BTW, The City gate under Charlie's Paw is the Engineer's castle which resembled the Verdun City gate where I was stationed in France.
Here is a photo of the Verdun City Gate. They have sandblasted it recently. When I was there it was almost black due to pollution.
I did all kinds of stuff, Invitations to Officer's Club Balls, and so on. It was a cool job!
Anyway, back to the subject. I saw a small diorama on the Internet and it inspired me to put a ruined train station on the end of the tracks and train shed already in place on the diorama Logistics. I won't copy it, just use the general idea. It will be about a foot long, (30 CM). Here is the diorama I am using for inspiration.
One of these days, I'll have to stop adding thins to this and finish it. It goes back to that old modeler's saying, "When is a diorama finished"?

I agree, I love seeing trains in this. Bob, you have an amazing imagination to picture something this grand. I wish I had the imagination and skill to do something like this in 1/72 scale... not to mention the space! The arch will be stunning and thew train station will really being this together!

Duke, you have everything you need to do a 1/72nd version of those. Just do it! I think you underestimate your capabilities! I've seen your work and you are an above average modeler! You'll never know until you try!

Yes Sir, very slowly moving I'm afraid ...those "statues" are gone, they looked very bad, the pillars will go too, have found something much better to replace them with, and the ends on each side are done (almost).
But this is about your masterpiece, and I think everyone's looking forward to seeing the piece you want to build. Bring it on

Wow Bob, those structures are going to be big...and intricate to scratch-up!
I agree with you on the train station dio, something along those lines should fit well and add some texture to the rail area.
