TOPIC: KV2 DIORAMA - Russia early 1942

KV2 DIORAMA - Russia early 1942 25 May 2019 09:46 #1

This is a continuation of my KV2 build from the 'something I've been fooling around with' post.
I have continued with the build and also created a base for the vehicle.

The base needed to reflect a thawing Russia, set after the disastrous winter of 1941/42, so I had some experimenting to do getting the dark Russian earth colors to appear wet and dry in various states, as well as patches of still melting snow.
Here is the Tank on the base without track fenders, the snow or the extra details painted/ highlighted.

I had to complete the fenders for the tracks and add the extra details that sit on them.
Here they are still drying but have had multiple layers of acrylic greens followed by pigment washes and artists oils for final weathering.

I then added the extra effects to finalise the scene.

Very Happy with the results for this little dio and it has 'spurred me on to finish my 110 dio.

WOW!

I would hope you are happy with the results! The more one looks, the more there is to see. :notworthy:

Wow that is absolutely incredible work! I like the added tiny details of destruction around it, like the sign add-on

I use a lot of small details that I keep from the scrap/ spare parts box. They always come in handy with these single vehicle dioramas. I actually like doing these mini scenes better than the big ones because I can build my collection faster from the stash - :smack which i definitely need all the help I can get with.
