Sharkmouth

Don't laugh when you see the date, I usually am prepared to join. Anyway, this Dewoitine D.520, No. 273 of the 3[sup]e[/sup] Escadrille GC II/7 with a small mouth on the air intake of the oil cooler. It was piloted by Adjutant-Chef Denis Ponteins. The aircraft was delivered on the 25th of May, 1940, and joined GC II/7 on June 1st yet was shot down June 5th of that year.

The kit I plan to use is the resin offering from Fox Echo, much before the LTD, then Tamiya kits:

Woe...the wayback machine! Did you do the hot water treatment to get the stabilizer straight?

Woe...the wayback machine! Did you do the hot water treatment to get the stabilizer straight?

I start MANY builds and never upload them...

I actually lost a slew of photographs I took for the Operation Torch Campaign. I had photos showing several Spitfire fuselages from Academy, Airfix, Hasegawa, and Revell. The Hasegawa Mk VIII with Australian sharkmouth was put aside. The Academy Mk XVI is too late so I combined the best features of the leftover, I inserted the gull wing section from the Airfix kit into the corresponding section of the Revell kit which omitted such an obvious feature:

So there's one Campaign I won't be joining!

Yes, the hot water treatment on the horizontal stabilizer fixed it.
