These are the colors I found on the Urban's color FS section on Soviet aircraft. http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_soviet.htm?wwparam=1480961591 Which looks more like the box art except with a darker green.

This is probably the colors I'll use with a darker green.

Just started glueing parts together. Gary

I came very close to picking one of these up on Ebay that was stupid cheap, especially after seeing the detail in the SBD I'm building now. Shipping cost more than the kit!

If your willing to pay a premium price, Tamiya has a new kit out and is supposed to be more acurate. The AM kit suits me just fine.https://hlj.com/product/TAM61113 Gary

I loved building this kit when it first came out. Still probably one of my fav Russian birds.

Going to add the crew as I'm planning to have it in flight over a German gun position. The figures came from a Bandai T-34 kit. Gary

I was going to use RLM 02 for the interior, but the paint in the jar was solid. So I used the RAF grey-green.
It looks OK, but when I looked as a VVS modeling site they said that chromate green was used in the cockpit and fuselage and a greenish grey in the wheel wells. So it got me to thinking that like the P-47 where 2 different colors of chromate was used in the fuselage and wings maybe so in this aircraft.

I just read the color section again. The cockpit was not chomeate green, but a greyish color. The color I used is good enough for me. here's some ref. pics from that site. Gary

Hope to have the gunner poised like this. If possible mabey this one post can be pinned as a VVS reference site. Gary Here's the link: http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/colors/internal-colors-primers/internal-colors-primers.html

Glued the fuselage and wings together with tape as a convencer. Scored out flaps before gluing the wings. Plan to have aircraft in a pre crash landing mode.
