    Clear acetate sheets

Is this what this is made out of? And is there any particular type to use?

    2022 year end review

I'll go ahead and start one. I don't think I will finish another kit this year. Too busy messing with this 3d printer. Was a productive year for me. I hope everyone had a good 2022 and what's left of it. Here's to 2023. Now in no particular order.

My foray into the world of 3d printing.

While I wait for my 3d resin printer to arrive, I need to learn all that goes with it. Right now I'm using fusion360. There are many 3d software out there. Some are big bucks to get the most out of them. I'm trying fusion360 first because there are some good videos on you tube. I followed along...

    Special hobby 1/48 AH-1G M-35 gun system

Fit was great, canopy was especially hard and fit there was cumbersome. Had some of the decal silver on me. Mainly where the raised rivets are. The kit came with a mixture of cast resin and 3d printed resin.

    Eduard 1/48 wildcat.

Alot of goodies with this one. Really wanted to see how good there 3d resin printed cockpit was. I have to say it was a real treat to assemble. One of the easiest resin set I've put together. Everything just clicked into place. Highly impressed with the printed resin.

    1/48 Hasegawa N1K2-J

Not a bad kit. Wanted to do something different and this fit the bill.

    Eduards/Hasegawa 1/72 b25

Decent fit. The nose was problematic..got it to flow with the shape of the kit best I could. Not doing the dry brushing as there is way to much masking on this paint job. Metallic paint is AKs extreme metal paint. I added some lead weight in the nose area, hopefully it's enough.

    Eduard 1/48 A6M2 type 21

From my limited research on zeros, they were either built by Mitsubishi or Nakajima. The paint varied between the two. All paint was MRPs new japanese line. I believe the type 21s were built by Nakajima.

    Arma Hobby 1/72 wildcat

Really liking these armahobby kits. Some fit issues with the wings to body. Had to trim the alignment tabs a lot. The landing gear assembly was especially finicky. But not a knock on the kit itself. Will do more.

    Arma Hobby 1/72 P-51B/C....DONE!

Somewhat of a start, been pretty busy. Detail is nice and some early test fitting seems good. Will be doing the shark mouth bird called Evalina.

    ArmaHobby/Eduard 1/72 Hurricane

While waiting for the mustang build in April, I'm working on the ArmaHobby 1/72 Hurricane. Since the mustang I plan on building is the 1/72 Armahobby P51b, I wanted to see how the Armahobby kits build. Not bad. Fit is good. Just realized the lighting sucks. Freaking phone camera.

Help me out! Paint mix ratio.

Im wating on the upcoming zero kit from eduard and gathering IJN paints. According to the instructuions on there website, you will have to mix two colors to get the camo color. The mix calls for 70% of one and 30% of the other. Would that be same as 7 drops and 3 drops?

    AMK 1/48 F-14D

Scratch built the seat belts with flat lead wire. Painted small diameter wire and twisted that together for the eject handle. Still got a few more things I want to do to them. I'm working off pictures from an excellent book. Highly recommend this book if you like the tomcat.

    Eduard/special hobby Tempest Mk.II 1/48

Cockpit was pretty basic. Could probably benefit from some resin goodies or eduard look ip. I laid down the camo roughly for now to help guide me later. I then went back and shaded the panels. I'm going to blend these in when I fine tune the edges of the camo.

    Eduard 1/48 PTO VLR Mustang

Tried a different technique to simulate the defused aluminum surface commonly seen on WW2 mustangs. Some of it looks ok. Also found a couple pictures of the guns and ejection port for the shells with some kind of coverings. So I tried to emulate that.

    Good ol' UPS

On the plus side the plastic is not damaged as far as I could tell.

    Eduard 1/48 bf-109e4 BOB

We didn't plan it this way, but 10 and I are doing the same plane and scheme. All the primary colors are AK real colors. I have to say they paint very very good.
