    I really don't want to put mud on, but given this thing went through a Russian winter and is now pushing into late spring there's no way around it. That's the next step.

    After getting burned twice with junk knockoff resin figures Paul suggested checking out Das Werk's commander. He's pretty good. Wasn't sure about his expression, but now, I think the grin really works.

    The Panzer III was a tough build for me. Can't imagine what the half track is like...haha.

    After putting an oil paint wash I think I'm done with the overall paint work, except for the fuel barrel. I'm trying not to cross the line between a working tank with battle wore paint and one that looks 20 years abandoned. This is the first model I've beat up this much, so it's baby steps.

    Came across this photo. Crew of the 115. This is the 5th Panzer Wiking tank number supplied in the decal sheet. However the "5" gave me fits trying to cut the masks, so I went with triple 1's.

    Got the area on the rear deck touched back up after adding the barrel brackets and the barrel ready for paint. Also did a bit of paint chipping on the mud guard just for some inspiration.

    I haven't even begun on the barrel, really. Got it from Classy Hobbies, it came with ridges on the barrel that I don't see on any period photos? So, I'm sanding them off as well as sanding down the pressed stamped lettering to make it more stamped looking.
