    Greetings

    USS TEXAS build.

Hi Cole. Thanks! The kit builds into a nice representation of the Texas for sure. The first issue I ran into was in the very first step...haha. I glued the hull halves together with the "bulkheads" in place, but just floating in place (Not glued). This allowed me to make adjustments with the...

That round thing is the parking brake lever. It will have a rod running from it to behind the brake pedal. I may be overdoing the paint wear, since this tank would've only been in service for a year or two. I'm enjoying beating it up a bit though.

Spent the day shaving off the all of the molded on water can details, such as the handle, filler cap and leather strap. It was terrible looking. I made the new handle and strap from paper, and turned the cap on the mini lathe. It's an improvement I think. Reference photos show some of these cans...

    New addition to the family!

They're our children. Dink has been attacked by an owl, caught by a coyote and ran over by a car, all in her younger years. She's settled down some in her old age...haha.

    New addition to the family!

Dink, the closest to camera, is 16 yrs old. The room they're in is the hot tub room. It's on the renovation short list. They like it in there because the windows are full length, from the floor to the ceiling.

    New addition to the family!

Our crew, Dink, Nancy and Gary. We don't dare mess with Gary's beat up chair! all were refugees.

There's a video clip of R Lee Ermy getting a crash course on driving one. These were crank start tanks. When he's ready to go he says to the guy, "Wind me up" 🤣

Ok, had to double check. The levers are in right. It is a crazy looking setup, with the right lever appearing to be right inline with the pedal.
