Thanks Greg! The turret is going to be a struggle. I'm also starting to run through the painting process in my mind for this beast.

I got that click part down! ...BTW, did you know that both, the Hillbilly that made Ned Beaty squeal like a pig AND Billy Redden, the banjo playing kid from Deliverance grew up not far from here...just say'n 🤫

Thanks Bob. Right now I'm resizing through my photo editing app. Curiously that app, which I'm calling "Hal" now, doesn't seem to like it to much and refuses to send it to my phone's gallery. So, I out smarted Hal 🤓 and screenshotted...shooted? 🙃 them while in the app. That sends them to my...

Building the FT's unique track frames. Of course, like most have done with this kit I replaced the plastic molded top idler frame suspension spring with real ones. These frames are a kit in themselves, and are an exercise in putty filling, filing sanding and getting rid of ejector pin marks.

Question for those who drive on the left side of the road

I'd never make it on the roads over there. Might as well just crash now!

I lost the mufflers tail pipe somehow. Sprue tree to the rescue. It happened to be the same diameter and have the right curve. It was just a matter of drilling it out and inserting in place.

I try to clean up a spot for a pic. But, I had to buy a new mini torch and when something like that happens it usually snowballs into a general reorganizing and cleanup...haha. The room IS looking pretty good this morning, though. It's a small 10×12 ish spare bedroom I share with my wife's work...

Finished the chop/cut/rebuild on the tail skid assembly. I made the rods from styrene rather than brass so that I could drill and pin them to the kit's handles. I felt a brass to plastic glue up would've been weak.

Turning my attention to the tail skid. The blue circled parts in the pic are cast tubes that are supposed to be bolted to the hull. Takom molded them onto the skid frame. On the real tank the skid was held on by steel rods, one on top and one on bottom. The top rod was larger and was removed to...

They are not. What was there, as far as the hinge barrels, were terribly tooled for the covers to be open. You're on to something with the doors,... is that the proper name for the covers? ...🤔, being operable though, Rhino. I had thought about drilling out the hinges for pins. At this scale...

This thing continues to fight me every step of the way. After struggling to get the hull top fitted, it was time to work on the doors for the engine and driver compartments. It became apparent that these doors were tooled to fit better closed. Lots of work to get them to display open! Which...
