Finally printed off a tool holder I've been working on here and there. While it looks simple it was actually quite challenging. I was using a home brew holder that was doing the job. It came out ok...more me not fully understanding how a design translates into a file for the printer.

Yes. This is the cad drawing for trim wheel on the left. Its really exaggerated on the design to get the detail.

I made some changes to the first design. That one is on the left, the fist design is on the right. The kit part is in the center. All in all after everything is closed up it will play the part. I also included a pic of what it looks like where it supposed to go...case anyone didn't know.

I agree, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the software used to design such items. For some it probably comes natural. I've made a couple very simple designs. All I can do is just keep using it...the ol' trial and error method.

Yeah. I've watched several videos on that particular test..the results vary on the holes..I got tired of messing with it..so printed this while I slept. It turned out ok.

the top holes are supposed to be hollow.. now to play with settings!

First test print.. looks ok. With the naked eye I see no layer lines.
