My foray into the world of 3d printing.

I understand what you are saying Eagle and I see it now. I do not know if I can go back and change it now. Working on the tread now. I'm not set on the design yet...but it was a small victory just to get it to this point. AND yes I know the tread it too tall...I left it that way to give me a...

My foray into the world of 3d printing.

Some more progress. Got both ends printed off. Got hung up on the designing the treads..what I thought was going to be fairly simple, has been difficult...still playing with the tire design..my test print on that failed..

My foray into the world of 3d printing.

Very early stages of a P-51 wheel. For me this was very frustrating to get to this point. I now have a new found respect for model designers. And can also emphasize when one might say F&#^ IT that looks close enough! LOL

    Latest Acquisitions Revisited!

I was unaware it had a fit issue. I built one for the mustang mania and thought it went together great. And no, I have not seen the video.

    I have a "slight" P51 addiction.

    Tamiya P51

You can't go wrong either way. The filler that was applied to the wing was constantly being applied from the toll of stress and combat. Also I believe the wing was the only thing to get the putty treatment to help aerodynamics. Looking good moon!

Opening of the 3D Work Shop

I believe these printers will be like tv's. When they first came out the resolution was pretty low..now we have 4ks and 8ks..I'm sure 16k is a possibility. Also there is the DLP option as well.. some say it's better than the 8k.. I opted not to go that route as that technology is fairly new.

My foray into the world of 3d printing.

Finally got around to printing off my ring and bead gun sight. I had no plans for dimensions that I could find..so it was all guess work. I did measure the gunsight in the eduard p51 kit. So I tried to stay around that. I do have a few issues I will have to troubleshoot. This first pic is just...

Adventures in 3D Printing. Panzers and Fantasy

From what I have seen yes and no. If you're scaling up an object that's true to scale then it should relatively stay the same. Now let's say you take my exhaust that I made for the mustang....now I over did a lot of the design just to capture what you would see on the real deal, just to see the...

Opening of the 3D Work Shop

I'd really like to know who all is into 3d printing on this forum. I know right now it's Jknaus and myself. But I have seen other members mention they have 3d printers while looking around the topics on this forum. As far as sub forum for this topic, I'd would add 3d printers/Setup/Brands...

Adventures in 3D Printing. Panzers and Fantasy

How small you can print depends on how capable the printer is. And yes you can scale up and down in the slicer software. But I have found the smaller the object the less detail that is seen.

Well I don't see any goats or chickens roaming around yet...so I'd say you're doing a pretty good job! Also thanks for the move!

    Tamiya P51

Sorry didn't mean to assume you didn't know. My eyes are crossed...I've been looking at CAD files all damn day trying to get this shroud designed for my exhaust. I've never seen that graphic you're talking about.
