    Porsche 935 1:12

I have the 934 Jagermeister in the same scale. Quite the time consuming build. Like you, Paddy, I am looking to do something different. I doubt I will be painting that shade of orange so I will be looking to a definitive color to paint mine. Watching with interest.

    Nissan 350Z Tamiya 1/24

I have been quietly building at a slow pace of late. There's no particular reason just that I have been enjoying these curbside kits. I have also been learning techniques involving Mr super clear lacquer and No-Name 2K clear coats. I used MRP Ford Liquid gray for the base coat and 2K clear top...

    Fujimi 1/24 Mercedes AMG GT3

I have been trying for the past couple of weeks to get a smoother finish for my builds. Acrylics didn't work well for me because I just couldn't wait for them to cure. Lacquers, while tougher than acrylics again I just was too impatient for get the correct setting and learning not to rush the...

    2K clear coats

I have now some good positive ventilation and PPE in the hobby room and I have bought some Mr Paint 2K clear urethane. My quest is to find an adequate cleaner. I am not buying proprietary cleaner/reducer in the quart. I'm thinking if the stuff is available for much less cost I would be willing...

    Tamiya Porsche 911 road series

I can say that this is as far as I want to go. Being this is the third or maybe fourth car that I built since 1977 I think I did better that I expected. I have learned a lot about acrylic finishes on car bodies and I think I am going to go the 2K route in the near future. I was masking some...

    Tamiya Porsche 911 road series

It is becoming an obsession. First a build for a friend, then two. then this. I have been battling trying to get the shade of red that I wanted. Nothing in lacquer and the closest was Aqueous from Gunze. I am letting the paint cure real well before gloss coating and a polishing. plenty big...

The quest for the acceptable model car finish.

I have several tubes of that stuff and it works real well. However, I have not used a rattle can on the Olds but use the acrylic metallic blue snd a clear coat. Ill do some rub and buff later. As it stands now I think I will be going for enamels for further car builds and stay with the acrylics...

The quest for the acceptable model car finish.

I know but you have to have at least an acceptable base coat.
