My Buddy Lewis Pruneau Part 03

I've known Lewis now for 38 years. Together we've travelled to most states back in the competition days, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, Omaha, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Miami, and many more. To Europe together twice, once when we competed in what was...

    BROKENEAGLE'S PAINTINGS - update 23rd Oct'23- a new sci-fi painting idea.

Beautiful Ian, I think this is my favorite so far. I love the faded background. Especially the Brandenburg Gate. The way you did it gives it a kind of nebulous appearance, a dreamlike quality. Just fantastic! I think I can relate to what you said about finishing a major diorama project. I've...

The VLS Corporation, The Middle Years

Paul, I wasn't intending to do a commercial for Macs. I was waxing nostalgic about 1983 and the early days of VLS, when I tried computers with the DOS operating system. It was an awful program at the time that has since went into the trash heap of history and replaced by Windows, an extremely...

The VLS Corporation, The Middle Years

A quick story behind that. When I started VLS, I went our and bought P.C.s with the old DOS operating system. We had nothing but trouble with them. One day, I spent the entire day entering inventory. At 4 O'clock, I pressed "enter" and it crashed, losing everything. I took all the P,C.s and...

If you ever get back here again, I'd love for you to visit. I have always kept the lighting appropriate to avoid fading. Normal incandescent lighting will fade paint over time. I believe your diorama has not lost a single shade of color. It's had tender loving care over all those years! Bob

The VLS Corporation, The Middle Years

You know Ian, I remember so well when you came all that way to enter Mastercon. The convention was in it'e infancy at the time and not nearly as big as it would be later. Eventually it would draw people from all over the world. But, at that time, we had a few, as you, that came from far away...

The VLS Corporation, The Middle Years

Gee Son, we didn't have what is available today back then, but we did have a bit more than Stone knives and bear claws!!!!!!!:yipee: I will say that building top drawer models required a little more creativity when compared to the plethora of products we have today! BTW, the neighbor that...

    Good luck Bob Letterman

Thanks Ian, I'm doing well now. They have weaned me off the walker to the cane and now I'm walking on my own much of the time. I've had to learn how to get in and out of bed, the same with chairs, recliners and cars. The therapists say I'm progressing well. Probably another 4 weeks before I'm...

The VLS Corporation. The Early Years.

No Doubt about that! It amazes me that a kit like the RR Gun Dora in 1/35th scale could be produced when only a few years earlier, it would have been impossible and out of the question!. And, like you said, costs aside. In the 15 years I have been retired, model costs have tripled and quadrupled!
