Ultracast 1/35th SS Tiger Tank Commander 1944-45

Ultracast has had a growing line of figures with the majority being Commonwealth soldiers or pilots.  Exceptionally cast, these have usually been sculpted by well known individuals.  Now Ultracast has released their first German AFV crewman, a Tiger tank commander which is multi-pose with several sets of arms and two heads.

This set comes in the usual ©Ziploc bag with heavy paper header held in place with two staples.  While there is a color image of the figure in one of the possible poses, no indication as tot he colors, time span, or even the sculptor is found.  There is a quick reference on working with resin on the back of the header.

The sculpting is well thought out with each head full of character and a hemispherical bottom allowing it to be posed in many ways.  One head has a microphone and headset but lacks any indication of how to wire it.  This head is shouting.

/gallery/albums/userpics/10065/35052_Ultracast_004.JPGThe second head is simply looking and does not have the headset nor throat microphone.  It is the one I prefer for its simplicity.  It is great to have a choice.

Also inside the Ziploc bag were three right arms and two left arms.  Each has a square indentation which allows it to precisely be matched to the shoulder pegs of the twisted and leaning torso.  See the photographs for some of the various poses possible.

The uniform is nicely done and places this commander in the later stages of the war.  It is a temperate uniform and should not be used for a Winter setting.

At $12.95CDN it is an exceptional value with the extra parts which will nicely dress up other figures.
