Jadar Models German Cardboard Boxes - Poison

Jadar Hobby is a Polish hobby shop in Warsaw that many years ago established a web presence.  While visiting Poland in August of 2010, I dropped by the hobby shop and met with the owner.  I grabbed several light items to bring back home and possible review.  It was interesting to see that Jadar, who manages Jadar Group, now has its own house brand with products.  One item are laser cut boxes:

Inside a resealable cellophane sleeve we will find two sheets of printed and laser cut cardboard colored paper.  The printing is in color and the white of the skull is vibrant with all the text clearly visible.

Unlike wood, where the scorched edges detract from the overall appeal, the effect is not so obvious on paper.  It does mean that freeing the design from the sheet is easier.  The tools needed are a straightedge and a sharp blade.  Alternatively, I have had great success with sharp scissors.

Here I am using a new #10 blade in a scalpel.
An excellent feature which is not obvious is the use of the laser to stitch fold slots making assembly easier.

The finished look is sharp even without my usual shaped balsa block to make the item hold the shape.

From close up, the dot pattern used to get the cardboard color is visible.  I can't vouch for the accuracy of the box as I did not find any reference images and Poison Boxes wasn't really my first choice.  It was handy.  Note that the interior of the box, if shown 'open' is an off white color of the paper, one may need to paint it to match the references (which I still don't have).
I really love the concept and will definitely pick up more of these items.  Also available are laser cut wood boxes.
