Adventures in 3D Printing. Panzers and Fantasy

Model 2.1. Resized the plate and the pegs. The problem lies in the transfer from tinkercad to chitubox. The tool is too big for the printer so I rescale it and then the measurements go out the window. So fixed now. Next up will be making some more plates and some more pegs and then as I think about it making new peg designs for particular applications. Then there will be no more finding the right sized skewer to hold a part. Will look at making some pegs I can crimp alligator clips onto I think. Lots of fun stuff if one puts their mind to it.

Oh and the pegs from version 2 fit this one :)

Those look excellent! I might even suggest making different lengths too for some of the larger wheels and tires so that they don't bump into each other when added to the base.

I like the idea with the alligator clips as well.

Thought about it but I'll make enough it wont be an issue. Its the other shapes etc that I am looking forward to thinking about.

A picture of my set up. I just got an Elegoo Saturn yesterday. Unfortunately it will not level. So I guess this weekend open it up and hope it is only a loose wire. Be a pain to package up and send back. It is a bigger printer and I got a cool STL file to try on it. Stan and Ollie. Also 2 piggy banks shaped like vaults for the grand kids.

Wow James, you are really getting into the printer thing. I have looked a a number of printers. Of course the one I would really like to have is about $3k. No rush for me there, have a lot of stuff to do to the house first.

OK ?!? that looks like a factory is in the opening

Can imagine the feeling about having a new gadget not working, that sucks

No not a factory. I wanted to get the Saturn almost from the beginning. Its almost twice the size of the Mars 2 Pro. Bad points are it came broken and the build plate is too big for the washing/curing machine. I have a way around that though so its okay. I wish Elegoo would get back to me.
I found a site that has figure STL files. I splurged on 2 of them, Red Sonja on horseback and Laural and Hardy. In prep for the Saturn printer I sliced the Laurel and Hardy and got it all laid out. Need to do the base next. Too bad I could not print it. I really wanted to know what quality the figs were though so put Olliver Hardy through the Mars 2 pro. I messed up with spacing so the lamp post has a flaw and ollie is missing some fingers. I do like what came out though. The place I bought the files is here https://indymodel88.com/collections/3d-model-stl-files?page=2

Here is the duo.

For any one on here who likes D&D style gaming or painting fantasy stuff I just subscribed to a site called Loot. $15/M. Each month a new set of what looks like about 30 pieces comes out. This month they threw in a bonus Tavern. I have set up a couple to paint and they give you 23mm and 75mm files so you can game or paint. I would have got a 3D printer sooner I think if I had known. Also got a figure holder for painting which will be handy. Will print one for me and my son. If interested here is the page https://www.loot-studios.com/bundle
What I got this month. Lots of printing and painting I think. Oh and it had 3 busts. I dont do those but they are there.

I'd like to say this new hobby is saving money but its costing money I would not have spent while saving lol. I cant wait to print some and try painting.

That stuff looks awesome. I'd best not start looking at printers...I don't have time enough for all I've got going already.

Nice find James.
No one with an "arrow in their knee"? (we'll see who the geeks are with that one).
I have a mod so anyone who has stopped adventuring due to an arrow in the knee gets a bolt of lightening. Now as soon as i hear those words I back up fast LOL
