The VLS Corporation. The Early Years.

Really enjoyed reading this. I couldn't spend the money on the aftermarkets back then, but I loved looking. Great stuff Bob!

I hear that Tim. Now, 14 years later, I walk in a hobby shop, buy a small bottle of Testor's paint and destroy a five dollar bill paying for it. I remember when that identical bottle cost 25 cents and the even smaller square bottles were a dime.

It is an expensive hobby these days. Kits that were $20 in 1999 are $59 today and it's hard to find an armor kit under $60.

Thank God for stashes. I could never build all mine!

True that Bob!

It's not lazy Bob, it's busy. You're busy. With what? Well now, that's none of anyone's business.

Thanks Helios,

Well, now I have a real excuse. Just got out of the hospital and in therapy. It's gonna take awhile I'm afraid!

Bob

Costs aside, these are halcyon days for model makers. Damneart any subject you could wish for is being made by one company or another!

No Doubt about that! It amazes me that a kit like the RR Gun Dora in 1/35th scale could be produced when only a few years earlier, it would have been impossible and out of the question!. And, like you said, costs aside. In the 15 years I have been retired, model costs have tripled and quadrupled!
