They are all supurb sculpts and quality castings Warren. While rather pricey, they don't lose their value and worth like our plastic kits do. In many cases a fully painted figure with a really quality paint job will bring several times the original cost of the base figure.
Jim Capone is the painter that was hired to paint each of these figures for display. He is a retired art teacher from someplace up north. I met him at Wonderfest last year and he is a really interesting and helpful guy. His work is exceptional as are many that paint these figures.

Any updates Paul?

Bob
Hey Bob, thanks for prodding me on this. I have been working on my 1/32 Bf109E4 and started the new 1/32 Bf-108. Decided to build them side by side since I am in that mode. Need to get one of the dozen or so figures built up. The paintwork has me a little leary yet, but the plane builds are helping me get my paintwork more up to snuff. There is a bit of pondering going on before I finally start this. Might just go ahead for the next Another World campaign.

Paul, do you still have that Wonder Woman figure you ordered awhile back that was junk?? You should use that as a test mule (if you haven't already 86'd it). I'm curious myself to try some more figures so I bought a "cheapish" 1/7 scale one off Ebay.

Extra ammo!

Tinman should have a water cannon then.

Tin man is in process and he is definitely NOT soft and cuddly. Much more cyborg-ish and definitely a kick-butt figure.

I still have it. The original is an excellent figure of Gal Gadot as WW. Mine is a horrible recast. You really have to be careful of those Chinese sellers as they will rip off anything to make a buck. As to paint mule, might be an idea or just take it and mod out all the bad stuff.

I ordered a figure titled "Ritual" which I suspect is a recast of a figure Luis Royo made. It was very well packaged, cast in PVC and seems to be molded quite well. the only negative is the molds for her dress. They were done in clear PVC or resin and are a bit warped.

Hey Warren! I just noticed this. It is an interesting looking figure. If it came from China, I can guarantee that it is a recast. Before getting into the figures to the point I have, I bought two from "over there". One was a mage figure that was 1/8th scale and a really clean crisp casting. The other was a horrible recast of a really nice Wonder Woman figure of Gal Gadot.

The clear parts can probably be adjusted with some very warm water. I always use a meat thermometer to monitor the water temp. Usually starting at 170F up to 190F is the good temp range for warpage adjustment. Any more I try to avoid the recasts as they are outright theft in the eyes of the figure community.

I have one figure that I purchased from the sculptor directly. I believe it is the last casting he will ever make of this particular figure. He could not get the cape to cast for it so gave me the cape off of his personal figure. As he was casting it fresh he also did the burning parts in clear as I had talked about it and he said he could do it.

This is called "The Penitent Bride"

That looks like a fantastic figure Paul!

I would like to try a few others and went looking for a large figure a bit on the cheaper side of things. Don't want to screw up a $3-400 figure! I had found this one and the casting looked good but I did recall the horror story of your Wonder Woman figure. It was only after I purchased it that I did a bit of digging and found out that it was a re-cast. I feel bad about supporting that now but I am impressed at the looks and casting and the packaging and shipping.

I'll post a few close-up pics if you like.

Sometimes if the figure is LONG out of availability with no possibility of re-release, I can maybe see where a repop isn't necessarily a bad thing. I must say that my iteration of the Penitent Bride is going to be a lot of work. It is FULL of pin holes from air bubbles, but I am sure that it is most likely the LAST casting. (number 88) It is also likely the only one where the flame parts are cast in clear resin.
