------------------------------------

"Model Rectifier Corporation is announcing the forthcoming release of another beautifully engineered plastic model kit from Italeri… the Arado AR196 A-3 Seaplane.

The Arado Ar196 was the primary reconnaissance aircraft use by the German Navy in World War II. It carried 2 crew members in tandem. It had a BMW 9 cylinder radial engine. Catapults were used to launch the Arado directly from Navy ships into the air. Upon mission completion, the aircraft landed on the water on its pontoons. It was capable of carrying twin MG FF 20mm cannon in the outer wings, one MG 17 7.92mm in top decking and one 7.92mm MG 15 on a pivoting mount that was aimed by the observer. It could also carry two 110lb bombs on underwing racks.

Italeri, The Culture Of Modeling, has delivered a wonderfully accurate recreation in 1/48th scale. It features: 2 large pontoons; the engine can be displayed open or closed; separate wing flaps; and Italeri even included the aircraft's transportation trolley. The decal sheet enables one of four versions to be built. (Figures are not included)"

The above is from the news release sent out by Italeri's US distributor, MRC.
