M151A1

JamesOLeary

Master at Arms
It has been a while since I have participated in a group build. I started on this on Saturday, 21 September 2019. I figured that the M151A1 could be considered a "Workhorse" since every company in Vietnam had at least one in their rear areas and some units had several.

I am going to use the Tamiya kit with the Legend detail kit. I will also use aftermarket tires and wheels, but I have to find them as I know I saw them about a month or so when I was going through some stuff but I don't remember where they are.

I am not sure if I am going to build this as a covered or uncovered vehicle. I guess the closer I am to completing it I will make that decision.

Anyway, here are the kits prior to starting.

And with the first parts glued on and some punch out marks filled in.

On Sunday I started adding some of the details such as the pedals, detailing the steering colum,n and prepared the first resin seat.

I had to remove the pins that the kit seats would mount to in order to get the resin ones to fit.

On Monday I finished cleaning up the resin seats. I still need to add the bracket to the bottom of the back seat.

Here it is mocked up.

Not sure what I will get done tonight. Looking forward to working on it, though.

Thanks for looking.
Cheers,
James
