Our club went to the Boone Airshow today with a display of some models. It was a small show but still worthwhile. There were about a dozen airplanes and helicopters on display. Boing Stearmans, Piper Cubs, Sikorsky Black Hawk and the stars being P-51 "Big Beautiful Doll", a TBM-3 Avenger and I think it was a T-11 twin engine trainer. There was also a display of 8th AF veterans, As well as a bunch of guns from different nations from WW2. Here are some pics I took.

Good pictures Joe.

That would be a Beechcraft AT 11 Kansan, or AT7 Navigator.
C-45, UC-45. F-2, AT-7 Navigator, JRB, SNB, H-18, CT-128, Expeditor, CQ-3. All based on the Beech 18 twin engine civilian aircraft.

Dangit, I had a picture of a real one can't find it on the web now. I'll load it again soon.

Great stuff Joe! Hard to gauge the size of these birds through pictures...I was awestruck at how big the Avenger really was when I first saw one in person!

I felt the same way. Its just one big plane.

Mike, it was a beautiful day. Few clouds, about 75 and light breeze. Perfect airshow weather. In 2 weeks Waterloo has an airshow with the Thunderbirds.

I just found out that one of the planes from the airshow crashed after the show. 2 people died. Possibly hit powerlines.
