Finally, Round 2 has released the Iconic Klingon Battle Cruiser from the first movie.

This was the first ship in the opening scene of the very first Star Trek movie. Along with the new theme music for the Klingons it has been the most memorable of all the adversary ships.

The kit along with a basic accessory lighting kit is the latest Star Trek release from Round 2.

The box is a large corrugated cardstock and has full color glossy printed surface. The parts are molded in a black plastic which is perfect for light blocking in a model meant to be lighted.

While this kit is the most detailed of all the large scale Star Trek kits Round 2 has produced so far, it has appearances that things were rushed at the last minute in order to meet the holiday demand. The problems that have shown up so far are that the large parts in a few kits are heavily warped and the instruction sheet has some issues with incorrect numbering of parts, some ambiguity of placement on parts, and a couple that just got missed. It appears that Round 2 is putting together a corrected PDF file for the kit that will be posted on their site and the other issues should iron out after this first release.

The lighting kit is rather basic and while it has some photo etch and colored transparent parts it will probably be wise to wait and see what the aftermarket community releases as it will probably be more accurate to the movie prop and have better instructions and options.

ParaGrafix already has released an initial photoetch fret for the K'tinga

The clear parts for no apparent reason means one thing "Upgrade Kits" in the near future. :popcorn

Thanks for this looksee Paul (y)
