Thanks for taking the time to look and happy (and productive) 2019 everyone.

Ian.

It has been fits and starts for me this year, with RC modeling intruding on plastic modeling much of the year. Then there are two plastic models that seem to be real time sinks. One is the Monogram B-26 being converted to an early short wing version at Midway, the other what was supposed to be an easy conversion of a Tamiya F4F-4 to an FM-2. Since around half of all Wildcats built were FM-2's, why isn't there a good 1/48 kit of one? Forget the Sword kit, the only usable part I got from it was the front cowl ring. The KMC conversion also had things that displeased me, and the KMC R-1820 that was supposed to be the variant for the FM-2 wasn't, yielding only the 4 air inlets that fit between the lower cylinders. Vector to the rescue. Still parts on the bench at this point but the cockpit is done and the Vector engine is nearly done, as well as the necessary modifications to the cowl, forward fuselage exhaust depressions, and the lower windows are gone. So are the wing oil coolers, faired over.

I did do a few P-40's this year, an A6M2 Zero, and a J7W1 Shinden. I finished one R/C project, and developed plans and parts for two more, a 108 inch Benny Boxcar and a 103 inch Top Banana. Those two still to be test built to prove the parts and write the build logs.

The Roden 1/144 C-141. Had to wait for new decals, the wings are on now and it's waiting for the white paint.

Nice stuff guys, all I can say is the year ain't over yet and the fat lady has yet to sing. I have three that are on the final approach and I hope to finish before the ball drops, we'll see what happens.

Beautiful work guys.

I guess I could take a photo of a stack of receipts, that's about the sum of my modeling this year, lotsa buying and gawking, not to omuch gluing and painting.

I bet that we would love to see more of your R/C models here in MA, John. I have a Sig riser that Ill be starting on in the near future and I plan on showing the build here and maybe garnering some info form you for sure.

That's what I've been gearing back into! :rotf

I'm with Gary, gonna hunker down over the holidays and maybe get one more done. :soldier

Beautiful work everyone! Ian, that was one productive year! I think you may have surpassed me in finished models. Still, I'm going to wait also since I have a few more that are close enough to being done that I might finish. Stay tuned.
