The mind of a madman

Hopefully everyone here knows who Adam Savage is. He is a prop maker/model builder known for his time as the co-host of the Discovery Channel series Mythbusters. He has also worked for Steven Spielberg's ILM building models and miniature sets for The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. He tells of preparing for his first day at ILM and going out and getting an expensive double action airbrush to paint his miniatures. When he got to ILM, he was surprised to see that all of the more experienced builders all used single action Paasche single action airbrushes. The tried and true Paasche is all he uses now.

Anyway, Mr. Savage has a YouTube channel titled Tested. On it he creates all sorts of neat things including a few models. It is well worth the time to check it out.

Yeah, he has a bunch of what he calls his "One Day Builds". He also has various guests on there and they build up regular kits as well as props.
One thing to remember though, and I figured this out after watching a couple of episodes, is that he builds to "prop" quality. In other words such that it would be seen quickly on a movie or TV shoot. There are some good tips and ideas to help speed up builds but not to the detail that we all tend to do.
