Aussie Abrams 3-tone pics

After a tip I received from a member on FSM, I went in search of some pics of the Abrams in Aussie three tone and found these in the Australian Defence Department publication Army - The Soldiers' Newspaper

I've been told that these pics represent an initial/interim scheme and that the pattern has been changed on later painted vehicles, but they do give an idea of what the Abrams looks like in the Aussie three-tone scheme.

Apparently it takes 170 hours of preparation, spraying and curing time to paint each tank. :blink

Hi Phil.

That is a cool looking Abrahms. It is interesting to see the diffrence in color between the Australian military versus the NATO colors. Especially between the brown and tan colors.

Nice images and yes the Aussie tan has a little more orange in it.
Thanks for posting.

I'm told that seven tanks were painted in the scheme shown above and are to be repainted. The new scheme has less black "slabs" and the black portions are "wavier" (if that's a word) and further breaks up the outline of the vehicle.

Jeez this looks good :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

It looks mean in a 3 tone camo

All it needs now is some shark teeth on the lower hull
