The Seige of Lexington

Advance forces arrived at Casa Da Dogwood right on time 0800. Order of Battle consisted of Adam Baker, Dukwhunter, Iron Mike, PhantomII and myself.

Uniform of the day was then issued.

We advanced on to the show in Lexington and reconed the site, vendors were setup and prepared for the onslaught. Your humble reporter attempted aggressive negotiations with the first vendor who was holding captive a sought after booty that's been much discussed on these forums. Yet, those negotiations yelded fruitless. for the time being.

Our non conformist Dukwhunter setup his entries for the competition and we all decided to make for strategic retreat to the LHS located in far off Augusta with a mess call at the PF Changs. After assessing the LHS I was unable to acquire any new additions to the arsenal of the uncompleted sprue. But the rest of the team were able to restock vital fluids and even new ones to test out.

We returned to the site of the previous siege to re-engaged negotiations with the previous vendor who was holding out firm so I had to meet his demand but still saved from full retail.

The nonconformist Dukwhunter also had to claim his winnings for all four of his entries including a Best of Show! :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy

Really had a good time today guys, Mike has more pictures. I'm sure he'll be posting soon.

Congrats again, Joey! Well deserved awards! Pictures in the morning, it's been a loooooong day! (y)

Oh man, definitely a very long day!! Just got home a few minutes ago.

Still kinda stunned that I didn't buy a single thing, but the vendor turn out was lack luster IMO, and the prices at teh HT definitely looked high to me.

Oh well, money saved for other ventures.

Opps, sorry Joey, still great showing! (y)

Post up pictures of your winners when you have time.

After a VERY good night's sleep, here's the photo evidence...

The lighting in this venue is quite poor and the gnats affected a few focus points, but there were some really great builds!

There you have it, folks. Iron Mike reporting. :drinks

Good pictures Mike, at least we got one shot of Joey where it doesn't look like a mugshot.

The shirts were a big hit also, had several guys there approach me and said they check out the site often but have not registered. Well we're glad y'all lurk when you can but you're more than welcome to join in!

BTW, if anyone would like to have a Modelers Alliance Bowling shirt like we have they are $40.00 +shipping (2X 3X are $5.00 additional) each, send Mike a PM or email and let him know you're interested. :drinks

The bowling shirt is also available in 4X (Kenny!!) :coolio The fit is roomy, but buy the size you usually wear. They are quite comfortable, I should mention the temps yesterday were in the low 90's and the humidity was too!
