Hello from northern New Jersey

Hello from Occupied Territory! I'm happy to have just joined. I already know a few fellas here and look forward to making some new acquaintances.

I started out fairly dedicated to 1:48 scale floatplanes and 1:35 motorcycles, but more recently I find myself way out on a tangent building 1:35 tractors. I'm trying to learn the art of weathering. If I get 2 models completed in a year...it was a productive season!

Here are a few of my most recent builds...

1:35 Caterpillar Sixty

(Current project in progress a 1:35 Volgograd Tractor Zavod DT-75)

1:35 LANZ Bulldog

1:48 Komatsu G40

1:35 STEYR RSO Rauppenschlepper

Thanks for having me, and I look forward to watching and contributing many good builds!

Are you in Bergen County? I'm further North in New Yawk!

Nice tractors, is the DT-75 the Balaton kit? I recognize Plus Models' Lanz Bulldog and the Caterpillar Sixty may be all resin or LZ Models' conversion to Trumpeter's S-60 tractor, which is it?

Regards,

Ecellent work on those builds Captain! Welcome to our little forum!

Don't knock the slow building, you are getting the awesome results! (Hey I am a slow builder as well)

I will be watching for more of your builds!

Welcome aboard Capt. I glad to see you found your way here, looking forward to more from the king of rust :drinks

Welcome to the Alliance! What do you mean you're 'trying to learn' weathering?! I'd say you've mastered it already. Outstanding 'calling cards' man!

Sharkmouth: I actually have the Balaton model DT-74... this is the DT-75 from Red-Iron models. The Caterpillar Sixty is the LZ conversion of the Trumpeter kit. You've got a good eye for kits.. impressive!

Thanks for the warm welcome gents! I'm really surprised by the response... not used to so much feedback!

I've not heard of Red-Iron models! I thought you simply were crazy enough to do some conversion work on an expensive resin kit! :D

We share an interest in tractors (simply got tired of gun tanks for a bit). I had asked of your whereabouts since there is the Scale model Enthusiasts club meeting in Franklin Lakes, NJ. I haven't been attending lately since I really go there for my son but will gladly meet you to get a closer look at your work!

Regards,

You pretty quickly find this place isn't like most other forums. I think being a smaller forum lends to this place being on a more personal level.
