INTERESTING COLOR PHOTO FOR GERMAN ARMOUR GUYS

Brokeneagle

Master at Arms
I have been meaning to post this photo for a while of a 8 tonne half track with a quad flak in Pillau March 45.
What makes this so interesting is the color mix for MARCH 45.
This appears to be either
- an early war survivor from the German grey period that has been over painted in a haphazard fashion.
- a later war vehicle that has been repaired with earlier spares .
- a vehicle with parts painted in grey in 1945
either way it is visually interesting having grey fenders(front and rear), gun shields and rear deck but bare steel armour, yellow wheels and yellow gun details. The rear of the cab seems to be in yellow (sticking above the cammo tarp), but the seat mount is grey, as is the fender below. These things seem to suggest an early war survivor which could be possible, but it would be one of the luckiest half-tracks in the German army.I do realise that there were other surviving vehicles put into the line at the end, but it is unusual to see one of these, as the survivors are usually mk3 tanks/ platforms or old captured french platforms.
