Spitfire differences

Other than the broad chord rudder and vertical stab what are the external differences between the Mk VIII and the Mk XI?

Are you looking to convert Eduard's VIII into a PR XI? If so, I can answer model-centric or historical differences. Mention scale too as I know there is a conversion for the deep chin in 48th scale. By the way, both rudders were used.

Regards,

Well, Alley Cat offers a conversion for the PR Mk XI in various guises. Here is a nice build using it:

If doing it yourself, the unarmored one piece windscreen seems to be the most difficult. At such a large scale, the three O[sub]2[/sub] tanks will be visible:

Remove all traces of armament, including cannon bulges, and add camera ports with cameras visible. Wings are puttied smooth (in real life) to help with speed and there are new bulges under wing.

I hope this helps,

Generally speaking , the recon Spits have a deeper chin and the frame less ( rounded ) windscreen .
