RF-4 Recon Phantom in Vietnam?

Hey guys, according to Wikipedia, the Recon version of the mighty F-4 Phantom was used in the Vietnam Theater, but what I would like to know if it was specifically used by the USAF?

IF so, can someone provide links to pics of it in SEA Camo. and perhaps in theater? I am thinking a Phabulous Phantom in USAF - SEA Camo and in 1/72 might be right up my alley for an upcoming build.

Just googled your words. :smack :facepalm :beer :mpup

From what I'm seeing RF4C had the same South East Asia camo as fighters.

Planning to use this?

If so, you're in luck as it has all the parts to make an RF-4C which is the USAF version used in Vietnam. This includes the thicker wings, not slatted wings and stabilizers, and faired over sparrow missile bays. Only thing missing from the box are markings. I may have something I can cobble together if I don't find anything dedicated(I did find one for Israeli RF-4E but they actually modified theirs further.

Regards,

The USAF RF-4C's were first deployed in 1965 with Light Gull Grey/White camouflage. The change to SEA camouflage occurred in the late sixties.

The USMC operated the RF-4B in Vietnam.

Cheers,
Rich

Not quite correct . The colors are the same but patterns differed .

Even the F-4D & F-4E are just a bit different . Just deppends on how accurate you want to be.

There should be plenty of ref on the net.
