Drill Bits!

Iron Mike

Master At Arms And Resident Curmudgeon
For some reason, I am having difficulty finding longer #75 and 76 drill bits. The ones I used to buy were about 1 1/4" long and now all I can find are very short. I need the extra length for chasing the holes in Friuls and the last bit I have is really getting dull. Anybody got a source? Thanks in advance.

Drll Bits!

I use these guys:

As a matter of fact, I just placed an order for polishing wheels and carbide cutters last night. I bought their wire gauge bits before, you can't beat their prices and service.

That looks like a great source, but the #75 only measures 1". I need that extra length to drill through the track from one end since the other end is closed. No idea where these I had came from, but I sure can't locate any long ones.

I get mine at Amazon. These look right?

Mike what I've done in the past is take some music wire, grind it down like a half round and chuck it up. Not a drill bit but it did the job.

Man, I could drill to China with those.

Bob, the track wire needs to fit kind of snug to keep the tracks square to each other, thinking the music wire might hog out the hole.

Thanks for the info, guys.
