Cables on German 88mm Flak 36/37 Bogies?

Tamiya's 88mm Flak 36/37 kit has 4 reels, 2 on each of the 2 bogie assemblies. Tamiya gives you smooth black vinyl tubing to fill those 4 reels with. I figure if those reels were used to lower and raise the gun that it'd be cable. Does anyone here know for certain (an image would be great) if those were steel cables wherein the twist of the cable was visible?

Thanks and cheers from Peter

Those are comm cables to link up a battery, The lowering and raising cables are run from those little motor looking things on both main arms between the wheels

The cables on those reels were electrical cables used for fire control. IIRC, they would have 4 guns and one fire control unit directing the guns and those cables were hooked up in series.

I know the other guys can give you far greater detail about this, I just remember when I asked the same question a while back when I build my 88.

Das ist goot!

Thanks guys. That means the cables are smooth like the Tamiya stuff and that I don't need to unreel them because i'm using the gun in tthe anti-tank role.

Thanks again for the help and cheers from Peter

This is really great except i can't read a lot of German and typing the names into Google Translate just gets the German name again.

Can, I mean would someone translate those labels for me? It'd be greatly appreciated.

Btw, iirc, Bronco makes a 1/35 searchlight kit as well as the Germnan telemter KDO. Mod.40.

Thanks and cheers from Peter

I have built the Telemeter from Bronco, nice kit wish there was more info over the cables and generators available
