I ordered this kit last week

I ordered a couple of pieces of PE but not much. Try to do it mostly OOB. I found an interesting site that has what I think and hope is good info.

Ah, another kitty. Seems I will have to do two builds for this, and finish my 10/5 for MMI...

Sweet! Another one I can compare what I'm doing wrong against. This will be most educational.

This is almost turning into a DAK Tiger 1 w/ Doc.

Alas the DAK had no organic Tigers. All tigers in NA where in separate heavy battalions. They are also painted in a very different manner to most DAK equipment...

An interesting little tank the Bison II, I also have one in my stash. Some off beat Ukrainian brand I think.

Go for it James!

After some research I have also got a new radio coming. Dragon gives 2 radios but only 1 radio rack. Looking them up they should be the FU5/FU16 radios. As it happens 1120 Productions has this radio set and BNA had it in stock. So ordered it and some Fruil tracks.

So as I have again lost a part for a kit in process it will be put away until I get a new part and this one started..
Anyone know of some diorama ruins for Libya?

Verlinden ruin

Or how about this...
Oasis

Hello James,

Verlinden and Model Victoria both have stuff especially road signs. Remember this is desert and %80 of it is just that, desert. There is the main highway following the railways along the coast. Lots of barb wire and lots of mines and mines signs. And there are the few forts like Bengasi , Sollum , Alam Halfa they look like the old French foreign legion forts. A small base with a small section of
Italian RRtrackin a corner and a desert road in the middle with your build and maybe a sign. Just some Ideas that are fairly cheap and not so time consuming.

Hi James ,

Here’s the real McCoy with a
Libyan monument.

Thanks for the hints and pics. I've been reading a lot about the area in WWI but not much in WWII. I kind of liked the columns. Have found some as well as a well which sounds like what I've been reading. Those shots of the bison II are helpful also. Using the Nuts and bolts book on the bison I for gun info.
James

Started with the gun and it is fiddly. Picking away slowly. Oh and the reviewers were wrong about only enough parts for 1 radio set. I found the second rack so not impressed that they never corrected their review but the radio I have coming should be great also.

Oh and I have seen a few of the European modelers using this revel glue. I got some on Amazon and I am kind of liking it also. Had to learn how to use it as it kept dripping at first but getting better control. Between it and Tamiya Green Cap I am doing okay.
