How long until there is a Group Build on this?

Revells new snap together "toys" are out. I picked up one of the new x-wings for grins-&-giggles. Took longer to get the parts out of the packaging thanto put it together. Had a sound module where the button was an R2 unit. Press R2 and get 3 different sound groups in the same order. The parts were decently pre-painted and were made out of Lego type plastic. Very tough and durable. Parts fit was quite good. X-wings worked fairly well though fuselage rear would tend to split back apart and let things jiggle until pressed back closed. Front gear will swivel and retract into fuselage. Main gear snap into holes, or get removed for gear up (which means they will get lost).

If you use CA on the back end of the fuse it should stay together and solve that mess. As a toy that a kid can put together it is an excellent, as a nice scale model, meh. :idonno

I have some pictures that I will post tonight or this weekend.

I already tried setting one up earlier this year to coincide with the movie release but due to the Movie campaign already out, it didn't really gain much steam....it's a bummer as I would've like a Star Wars type badge...

I saw this the other day, so we'll be able to get the Fine Molds models for a lot less.

I plan on getting the TIE and X-Wing to go with my giant Falcon.

My bet is those are done with the Fine Molds molds. I wouldn't mind a couple of the 1/48 X-wings either and would really like the rest of the kits in 1/72 to go along with the Fine Molds Falcon I have.

It is kind of neat that manufacturers are willing to work out deals and swap molds out like this. It makes it easier for us to get the kits over time.

I really hope that we can get Bandai kits over here in this method. I'm not interested in Revell's kits, but if they were the North American distributor of the Japanese kits, I'm cool with that.
I have the Bandai AT-ST and the astromech set, and they're fantastic. I'd love to get the other 1/12 figure models too.

I would have loved the Revell snap and play kits when I was a kid. Having a model kit that's durable enough to play with would have been a dream come true.

The Bandai stuff has been banned from international sales though If you want some you better know somebody that can buy them directly there
