P.R. Aircraft

Something that isn't built or seen a lot, Photo Reconnaissance Aircraft, just throwing this in to see if any interest.

Any PR Aircraft from any country, any era, or from WWI to present might be easier.

Phil, I added a poll to tally participants easier. I like the campaign!

Some inspiration from my limited and acute tunnel vision:

Hopefully Tamiya will have their P51/F6 out. :pilot

Bob, Sprue Brothers sells a conversion: http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/qbt72234.htm

Yeah, I know that one is 1/72, but for some reason their 1/48 set says "No Photo Available" :idonno

I grabbed one awhile back to do The Flying Undertaker as she was the day Capt. William Shomo shot down 7 aircraft and earned the MoH.

I'm talking about the 1:32 kit Ryan. The PE for the camera is already in the kits. From the looks of it, Tamiya is planning multiple releases of this kit.

:rotf :rotf Sorry Jeff, not enough coffee and too much work while posting.

Check it out.

See that ring there, looks like the frame around the window where the camera sits. also you can see

here, rocket nozzles for later rockets used in Korea.

So it's pretty clear that Tamiya is going to give us an F6 somewheres down the road. :geek :pilot

I have a conversion somewhere around to make a photo recce Bf 109. That would be interesting. Would a WWI reconnesance bird work also?

This one says it has all the parts neccessary to build the F6 version: http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/tam60323.htm

Quote from that page: Kit includes parts to enable assembly of the P-51D, P-51K, or F-6D variants, including cockpit details.

An F-6D from 1st Fighter Squadron, 2nd Air Commando Group, Burma, 1945 can be built from the kit.The kit has the camera installation, loop antenna for the dorsal and different RH switch panel for the cockpit.

Tamiya P-51D/K

Note the missing black outline, different eye, colors around the eye and mouth, the underlining of the name, which is different from the cover painting.
