Sherman 18

Master at Arms
I'm jumping in with Trumpeter TYPE 87, kinda a neat looking 6 wheeler. Looks to me like a modern M8 Greyhound :hmmm

With the snow and stuff this weekend, I hope to get a good start!

I am sure you'll enjoy this kit. Trumpeter worked with Skywave/Pit Road (a Japanese company) to produce this kit. So it wasn't rushed and the research and development was properly done.

Regards,

I did get started yesterday. Kit does go together well. Just three trees, then upper hull, lower hull and turret top. There is some photo etch, three metal rods, clear thin plastic sheet and decals. When I started to stick some of the parts on they fit tight when test fitting and most of the time this was due to some flash on the parts. The biggest disappointment was the gun barrel is damaged and the end missing. I'm not sure if that was caused by me when unwrapping that tree or if it was that way from Trumpeter. So I need to find away to get a new one. The suspension is molded very well as is the rest of the kit. I did get as far as having the suspension together before getting called into work. :vmad

Thanks for the comments guys!

Did a little more today. Both the upper and lower hull were warped a bit. I dropped a couple of the clear plastic pieces and had to replace them.

Does anyone know how/where to contact Trumpeter for replacement parts?

Does anyone make a brass AM barrel?

Does anyone make a brass AM barrel?

It seems the broken barrel is a common thing for this kit:

The bushmaster is closely related (the ancestor) of the US 25mm M242 Bushmaster. So, try to find a barrel that is similar with the flutes such as the one released by Arms Corps Models:

Watching with interest here. nice to see separate tires and wheels from a painting point of view :) They should make that the "law" on all models :)
