WIP 5th New York Zoauve

Hi all,
Presenting my new Pegaso figure all Primed up with Tamiya from a Spray Can, ( Thanks Dave Sansom !)warmed up in a bowl of warm water for about 5-6mins, sprayed in light coats. Any missed bits was painted over again using a bottle of Tamiya Primer this time with a small brush.
Construction was quick, very little flash to contend with although I did run my pin around every pocket strap and buckle to make them pop out a bit more. Letting the primer really set overnight then on with some painting.
Im doing his Rifle seperately as it deserves as much tenderness as the figure itself

Hey Jen, Sorry yes, Its an American Civil War figure
They copied an French Uniform and wore it during the first few years of the war
Great colours,... Dark Blue Jacket with Red Trouser pants and Hat, Gold Coporals stripes, Light Blue bits on the waist band
Thought Id try something different for a change

Hi all and thankyou for the replies

Heres a quick update : after the primer I outlined in Black then swifly onto the face which I think has come out rather well although you cant tell that in the following pictures as it was a quick snap and load job, I then did some colour blocking around the head area ie hat and tunic etc etc.

Anyway heres the updates and as always thank you for looking

Andy

OMG you are doing all this in one day? looks sweet! :woohoo:

LOL Dave, Well Ive only finished the facial features, beard is still to be completed as well as everything else,
Shame the pictures dont show the face as Ive used my Donegal Optivisors today for the first time and what a difference they`ve made !
Ive given him a wonderful busted up nose so he looks as though hes been in a few punch ups before now lololol

Andy

PS

Any Camera experts out there willing to help me take better shots ?????

Ok Im back with a update of my progress with this chap, its about 75% done with some outlining, the backpack, strapping button outlining, etc to be completed

Hey Andy ,

Looking really sweet , the figure is superb , The grass does not look that flash yet but you did say you have work to go , I would lighten it up considerably . Have you got some of the Kamisuri paper plants ? Or some PE ones ? I would add some to create some interest , even maybe a piece of seafoam with some plus model leaves glued on ? A bit of a gnarly bit of root from the garden perhaps ? The ground does look like astroturf a bit .

Jenny

Hi Jenny, Thank you !

Bit of a way to go on the base as you say,.. Ive not thought about adding flowers but I like the idea, I shall investigate this

Thank you once again, Boss

Andy

Andy,

You have done a very nice job on this guy. I would like to say the blue is really nice, oils or acrylic's? I would like to suggest, just my 2 cents, it would add a little more to your figure if you had a highlight and shadow on the yellow and red cheverons. It would help make these pop.
The other thing about your base. I think it might work if you remove the fence. Having a rock/base next to the fence I do not think works very well. If you remove it and then take some pastels and use over the grass it wil help to blend it all together. The other thing, I never use the kit bases becasue it really limits what you can and can't do with the figure. Besides all my rambling, I think you have a really nice piece you can be very proud of.

Joe
